On the esplanade of the Mas Rillier, alongside the majestic Madone, stands the belfry of the Carillon de Miribel, 28 m high. Built in 1945, it houses a set of 50 bells listed in the supplementary inventory of Historical Monuments. Father Thomas, pastor of the hamlet, had it erected to guide the pilgrims to the statue of the Madone. The sound of the Carillon was heard for the first time in 1947, on the occasion of the inaugural concert given by Master Carillonneur Maurice Lannoy. |
